Things I am really into right now

Sometimes you just have to give a shout out, right? What follows is just a few things that I am totally into right now, considering that I have a lot of time on my hands, being jobless and all. Enjoy!
1. Bacon. This one may seem obvious. But the best reason is that its low-carb. I can eat 3 pounds of it in a day, and not gain an ounce. See you at the hospital, I'll be the one having a heart attack! And don't forget, buy it at the meat counter at your local store, so much cheaper than pre-packaged.
2. Project Runway. Season 2 of this riveting Bravo show is kickin' my ass. Can't wait for next weeks model walk-off! Watch it Wednesday at 10:00.
3. "It should happen to you" starring Judy Holliday and Jack Lemmon. Filmed in 1954, directed by George Cukor, this charming film is so cute and amazing, everyone should go watch it right now. Very ahead of its time with the whole "everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes", and the rise of everyday people being huge stars. Go watch it right now! Seriously, go!
4. Dior Addict Lip Fluid #866. Rarely do I ever wear the same lipstick two days in a row, but this one has been used for the last 3 days! Get outta town, right? Everything about this lipstick is great, the way it is a perfect blend between lipstick and gloss, the way it applies so smoothly, how it stays on all day, the incredibly luxe packaging, and the color: perfectly red, so bright and 40's. In fact, the only thing I don't like is the way Dior insists on identifying their product colors with numbers. If someone says to me "this color? it's called flirt", I could totally remember that. If they say "it's called 866", I won't even try. Seriously Dior, give it some thought.
5. Golden Palace. This is the unofficial last season of the Golden Girls. After G.G. ended, another network picked it up for another season, and they called it Golden Palace because the girls bought a hotel to run (called Golden Palace), and Dorothy wasn't on the show, but Don Cheadle was! It even has a revamped version of the "Thank you for being a friend" theme song. They play it on Lifetime at midnight, and I am hooked!
6. Joaquin Phoenix. mmm, yummy.

The 11th Commandment: "Thou shalt not force opinions on thy consumers"

So I totally ate at In N' Out Burger all the time when I was in SoCal, and it was pretty damn tasty. Even though they don't have the option of bacon on their burgers, I learned to substitute extra sauce and I hardly missed it. But on my first visit there, I was quickly working my way through a serving of their delicious fries, and I noticed the bible verse subtly written on the bottom of the fry container. Sneaky, sneaky. What is this new trend of throwing Jesus casually into your business plan? Forever 21 does this as well, which I always found inappropriate for obvious reasons. Most of the time, I go there to buy a new top to slut it up on the town on a Friday night. Certainly not very Christlike. But all of this got me to thinking. If you are going as far as printing verses on your products, why not go all the way? I am envisioning a place called, oh I don't know, Jesus Burger? They could serve loaves of bread, fish, wine, gruel and whatever else people ate back then. Happy meals could include Jesus figurines for the boys and Ten Commandments bracelets for the girls. I think everyone, especially the southland, would really embrace this idea. We could be millionaires! Feel free to contribute ideas!

X-mas films for everybody!

I know most people are sick of holiday films, especially It's a Wonderful Life (I happen to adore that film, and watch it at any time of year), but I have just been obsessed with them lately, so here are a few suggestions for any scrooges out there.
1. Love, Actually.
Great movie. It usually makes me cry, even in the first few minutes of the film. Call me a softie, but if you combine christmas and the English race and throw in a little Hugh Grant dancing, I am a happy girl.
2. All That Heaven Allows.
Where can I start? Directed by Douglas Sirk, starring Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. It was the original inspiration for the recent Todd Haynes film, Far From Heaven. This film follows a widow as she falls for her hunky gardener, in spite of opposition from her children and friends. It takes place during the fall and Christmas season and will make you feel warm all over.
3. Untamed Heart.
Don't lie, you know you love this film! It doesn't get much better than Rosie Perez and Marisa Tomei as hard luck waitresses, falling in love with the slightly retarded line cook, played by Christian Slater. Will Christian die? Will he consent to getting a new heart? Suspense and bad acting? I'm telling you, don't miss this one!
4. Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
It doesn't get any better than Dolly Parton singing "Hard Candy Christmas". 'Nuff said.
I hope you all enjoy these films and if you have any suggestions for Christmasy non-Christmas movies, let me know!

I'm back bitches!

Hey Ya'll! I am so happy to be back! I have so missed my little blogging world and keeping up with all of you out there. Now that I am back, expect many posts about makeup, fashion, food, and whatnot. L.A. was an amazing life changing experience (for reals!) and I will never forget it. If anyone is considering going into the makeup/special effects world, Westmore Academy is THE place to go. Talk to you all soon!
